The Hotel PM system allows you to copy information describing one piece of equipment to create one or more additional pieces of equipment. To begin the process select an existing piece of equipment from the Equipment List by locating it in the list then clicking on it. The selected equipment is highlighted, as shown in the figure below. Click the Copy button to initiate the copy process.
The system will open an Equipment data window, similar to the one show below. Notice that in the upper right hand corner of the window the original piece of equipment is identified, by the phrase "Copy from MB40" in this case. All of the information about the original equipment is copied into the new record. Only the ID Number is blanked. Of course this does mean that serial numbers, equiopment location, and other unique items should be changed before saving the new equipment.
After clicking on the Add button to save the current equipment record, the system will blank the ID Number allowing the copy process to continue. With some planning the Copy command can greatly reduce the time required to setup the equipment portion of the hotel database.
