Anti-Money Laundering is a course designed to enhance the ethical and professional competence of financial and insurance professionals aspiring to make ethics a cornerstone of their personal mission. Our students will acquire a new level of competency and insight into these highly critical areas relating to ethics.
We explore and give our students dozens of examples of actual insurance unethical fraud and scams that have occurred in Georgia and gained media attention during the most recent 5-year period in particular. It provides specific knowledge about a whole host of different types of unethical insurance fraud that are perpetuated against Georgians every day.
The course also provides the agent with information and insight about identity theft especially as it relates to annuities and life insurance cash values and the potential negative impact on policyholders’ insurance and financial planning goals.
We increase the awareness and understanding for the student of the “cash intensive” nature of annuity products of all descriptions and the fact that they are especially attractive and vulnerable to identity thieves.
It highlights ethical behavior and ethical fundamentals that are basic, and this has not changed over time.
Ethical agents in all areas of the Insurance industry, Life, Health, Accident, Property, & Casualty handle money for a living every day from individuals and businesses. All insurance licensees are legally and ethically bound by the Patriot Act to be diligent in their daily dealings with customers and clients. They are required to be aware of unethical and illegal money laundering and the huge impact it has on our insurance companies and policyholders’ life and annuity policies.
As ethical insurance agents and brokers, you provide insurance and essential services that serve as an important resource for families, homeowners, renters, drivers, and consumers across the state. You also play a key role in anti-fraud efforts for the insurance industry as you are in a unique position to detect unethical acts as well as suspicious insurance applications, potential fraudulent transactions, and claims, and stop them before the fraud is committed.
