The course is divided into two main parts, each dealing with the main aspects of estate planning, such as wills, intestacy laws and probate; estate planning and trusts. It also reviews the 2020 changes in tax issues related to estate planning.
The chapter on wills, intestacy laws and probate describes the benefits of a will, legal basics, will format and explains will provisions. It also explains the main intestacy laws and consequences of dying without a will for an estate owner. The book also describes the main issues of probate.
Since trusts are one of major tools of estate planning, we have a separate chapter dedicated to various types of trusts, describing their advantages and disadvantages. The course provides material on trusts basics and describes various types of trusts, such as revocable and irrevocable trusts, living trusts, charitable remainder trusts, generation-skipping trusts, etc. trusts are discussed in relation to estate planning for individuals and business owners. Insurance products are also discussed in connection with the trusts.
