Hotel equipment is classified by category and subcategory in the system database. The Equipment categories and the associated subcategories can be defined to meet the needs of each Hotel or group of Hotels. Actual equipment categories can be up to 20 characters in length; with the subcategory names limites to a maximum of 30 characters. The equipment categories are used when defining Standard Maintenance Tasks, Scheduling Equipment maintenance and can be used when reports are generated.
While the equipment categories can be changed at any time it is best to define them as thoroughly as possible before the equipment database is built. The equipment category list can be printed and shared with others.
Equipment categories are limited to a maximum of 20 characters. This restriction is due to space limitations on reports. Equipment Subcategories are limited to a maximum of 30 characters.
